The United Arab Emirates formally handed over the presidency of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level to Bahrain during the 165th ordinary session held via video conference on Sunday.
The session marked the transition of leadership from the UAE to Bahrain, with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani assuming the chairmanship for the new term. Officials emphasized the importance of continued coordination among member states amid escalating regional tensions and security challenges.
Representatives of Arab countries expressed appreciation for the UAE’s efforts during its presidency, highlighting its role in promoting joint Arab action and strengthening diplomatic coordination on key regional issues.
The new presidency is expected to focus on enhancing collective responses to security threats, safeguarding regional stability, and reinforcing cooperation among Arab states within the framework of the Arab League.
