UAE Finance Minister passes away

UAE Finance and Industry Minister and the Deputy Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum passed away on Wednesday.

The news was announced on Twitter by his brother, UAE Prime Minister and the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Born in 1945, the departed prince was the second son of Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and he was educated in Dubai, then, he earned further educational degrees in Cambridge, London, and Edinburg.

In 1971, he became the first Finance and Industry minister in the history of the UAE and he played a shinning role in establishing the country's fiscal and economic policies.

Moreover, he held various positions at several organizations such as Dubai World Trade Centre.
