Due to the current Marburg virus epidemic, the UAE has cautioned Emiratis from visiting Tanzania and Guinea.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has advised delaying any travel arrangements to these locations until further notice in order to protect the safety of UAE people.
In a statement released on Saturday, the ministry also asked UAE nationals who were already in Tanzania or Equatorial Guinea to use caution and abide by any safety instructions given by the authorities there.
Emiratis are encouraged to call the ministry's hotline at 0097180024 in case of an emergency.
By coming into close touch with body fluids like blood, vomit, or saliva, the uncommon but fatal Marburg virus illness can infect people. It is conveyed to humans by fruit bats.
The Ministry's warning is being issued as a precaution to stop the virus from spreading and to protect UAE people.
