Two violent explosions rocked the largest US Army base in eastern Syria, within the Al-Omar oil field, coinciding with clashes and attacks carried out by members of Arab tribes against the positions of militants loyal to Washington in the vicinity of the base.

The Russian Sputnik channel correspondent in eastern Syria quoted local sources in the Deir ez-Zor countryside as saying that two powerful explosions were heard throughout the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, rocking the American base in the Al-Omar oil field.

The sources added that it is expected that the two explosions were caused by two drones that struck the base, without knowing their source or results in terms of human and material damage.

The two explosions were preceded by the departure of a military convoy of the alleged "International Coalition" forces from the Al-Omar field, east of Deir Ezzor, towards the western regions, amidst drones and helicopters flying over the region's airspace.
