Twitter was down for thousands of users around the world on Monday, but the company fixed the issues about an hour later.
Logging issues with Twitter’s website and app were apparent by around 12.50 pm ET on Monday.
Downdetector, a website that tracks outages, noticed the spike in issues after 12.30 pm.
More than 3,000 American users reported issues by 12.52 pm and simultaneously, about 1,800 British users reported problems, according to DownDetector. Users in New Zealand and other countries were also reportedly affected.
The users said their tweets were not refreshing, and others complained that they were kicked off the platform and forced to try logging back in.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash but, likely, the issues appeared to be fixed by around 1.30 pm ET, according to the Daily Mail.
The last time that Twitter crashed was more than a month ago, on October 4.
Other social media platforms owned by Meta including Facebook, WhatsApp and Messenger have also recently faced global outage.
