Twitter announced on Tuesday it was releasing tweets that disappear after 24 hours. This feature is named "fleets", similar to the stories feature that is popular on Snapchat and Facebook app. That feature can share photos, text or even repost tweets in posts.

The fleets are pinned to the top of the timeline and are only available via mobile apps. Meanwhile, some Twitter users experimenting with the tool said it had created worrying opportunities for online harassment, like allowing unwanted direct messages. It also allows fleet authors to tag people who have blocked them.

On other hand, the firm confirmed it was working on a live audio feature, dubbed “Spaces,” that it aims to test later this year. The feature will allow users to talk in public, group conversations. It has similarities with Clubhouse, a social platform in which users are invited to talk in voice chat rooms.

Noteworthy, Twitter and other major social media companies are under pressure to better police abuses and viral misinformation on their sites. Twitter spokeswoman Liz Kelley reported, that fleets are subject to the same rules as tweets.

Earlier, the firm announced that Peiter Zatko, was appointed in a new position as a security head , giving him a broad mandate to recommend changes in structure and practices. Zatko, is one of the world’s best-regarded hackers to tackle everything from engineering missteps to misinformation.

The Economic Times reported that he will examine “information security, site integrity, physical security, platform integrity – which starts to touch on abuse and manipulation of the platform -and engineering.

Meanwhile, the firm faces numerous security challenges. A year ago, the US government accused two men of spying for Saudi Arabia when they worked at Twitter years earlier, saying that they passed along private information about the kingdom’s critics.
