The TV BRICS International Media Network has launched a new broadcasting concept for its television channels to mark the 20th anniversary of the BRICS group. The changes affect the structure of the broadcast schedule, visual design and programme content, according to TV BRICS.

The concept, entitled “Countries. Events. People.”, introduces a systematic, encyclopaedic approach to covering the activities of BRICS member states and partner countries, with deeper attention to human potential and national development prospects. At the first stage, the new concept has been implemented on the Russian-language TV BRICS channel, while similar transformations will soon be introduced on the English-, Chinese-, Portuguese-, Spanish- and Arabic-language channels of the media network.

The 24-hour broadcasting schedule of TV BRICS channels is now structured into thematic blocks covering news, economy, industry, technology, education, science, ecology, history, culture, music, traditions, cinema, sport, tourism, and people. The schedule includes news bulletins, programme series and expert interviews, analytical studio formats, documentary screenings, as well as new short segments featuring figures and facts about cities and BRICS countries, alongside quotations from public officials and historical figures.

The television editorial team of the media network has also prepared two premieres. In the new season, viewers will see the project “Global Media Briefing” and the analytical programme “BRICS Dialogue”, dedicated to issues of interstate cooperation.

In May 2026, TV BRICS viewers will also gain access to new content provided by media partners from different countries. These include the series “Astronomy”, dedicated to space, stars and the mysteries of the universe, produced by Kazan Federal University’s UNIVER TV channel; the documentary “My Sister Clara” directed by Diego Alexandre; the series “Life Path”, devoted to figures who left a significant mark on the history of Latin America; and the programme “Day of the Dead: Culture and Fidelity to Traditions”, provided by teleSUR in Venezuela.

The international line-up will also feature a documentary on the city of Yazd and the multi-part project “Iranian Traveller” from the State Radio and Television of the Iran, as well as documentary films from CGTN about the unique crafts of a new generation of Chinese rural artisans.

“TV BRICS channels provide a space for countries around the world to present their national agenda and strengthen their international image through the language of television and cinema. Our broadcasting schedule is, in essence, woven from the content of directors and media companies from different regions. At the same time, many television and film projects cross national borders for the first time through TV BRICS, making our shared television space unique, relevant and engaging,” Janna Tolstikova added.

Broadcasting of the Russian-language TV BRICS channel is available throughout the territory of Russia via satellite and digital television operators, online TV streaming services, terrestrial broadcasting channels, video hosting platforms and social media.

Broadcasts of TV BRICS channels in English, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic are programmed according to the interests of target audiences and are available on the corresponding language versions of the TV BRICS information portal.
