"Tutankhamun".. Hero of GEM, Egypt’s 21st Century Largest Cultural Project- Hawass

Dr. Zahi Hawass, Egyptologist, gave a lecture at Cairo University about “Tutankhamun” book. He explained that his presence at Cairo University represents the happiest moments of his life.

He praised the effort made by the President Cairo University, Dr. Mohamed Othman El-Khosht, to enlighten students and recall all symbols culture, literature and art, which increase their awareness and build their personalities.

Hawass said that Egypt have the greatest civilization in the world, and its value will rise to the highest level.

Hawass also clarified that Egypt will open next year the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), the largest cultural project in the 21st century, explaining that the hero of this museum is "Tutankhamun". As a result, he wrote the opera "Tutankhamun" to be displayed during the museum opening ceremony.

Despite the passage of 97 years of the greatest discovery in human history, but the whole world, adults and children, know the golden pharaoh "Tutankhamun.

On other hand, the Egyptian archaeologist added that there is no such thing known as the curse of the Pharaohs, pointing out that the most beautiful moment in his life is to see the Ark of Tutankhamun face to face.

The Egyptologist also said that the most beautiful artifact in the world is the Tutankhamun mask.

The famous Egyptian archaeologist advised students not to be in despair of any failure, because a person may fail for a moment but with work, diligence and determination to succeed and love his work, he/she can reach the highest levels of success and excellence and convert any small effort to the greatest achievement.

Hawass added, during the course of his life, he learned how to turn failure into success, saying, "If you love your business you will succeed in it."

Hawass confirmed that many artifacts were taken out of Egypt in 2011/2012, but a piece of Tutankhamun tomb was not smuggled out of the country.

During the symposium on the book "Tutankhamun," Dr. Al-Khosht stressed that many lack awareness of history, pointing out that “It is not enough to refer to our glories in the past, but we have to make a new history befitting Egypt, present and future, that we make with Egyptian minds and hands.”

He confirmed that Egyptians are capable to rewrite our history, civilization and to create, innovate, inspire others by their civilization, making a glory, well deserved.
