A high-level delegation from Hamas, led by the Chairman of the Shura Council Mohammed Darwish, and including Khaled Meshal, Khalil al-Hayya, and Zaher Jabarin, met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul.
In an official statement, Hamas confirmed that the Chairman of the movement's leadership council expressed his appreciation for President Erdogan’s efforts in supporting the Palestinian cause and his commitment to everything that preserves the Palestinian people, their land, and their sanctities.
The delegation discussed the latest developments in Gaza, emphasizing the urgent need to implement a ceasefire agreement, facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip, and ensure the restoration of normal life for its residents.
The Chairman also alerted the Turkish President to the gravity of the ongoing violations and transgressions committed by the Zionist enemy in Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Furthermore, he highlighted the danger of passing the prisoner execution law, noting its direct violation of international law.
For his part, President Erdogan reaffirmed to the leadership delegation Turkey's steadfast position in supporting the Palestinian people, their legitimate rights, and their just cause.
The Chairman of the Hamas leadership council concluded by thanking the Turkish President for his efforts and for the stance of the Turkish government and people in bolstering the resilience of the Palestinian people on their land.
