The Turkish Ambassador to Cairo, Mr. Salih Mutlu Şen, recently visited the "Jaid Textile" factory in the 10th of Ramadan City, which stands as one of the largest Turkish investments in Egypt's garment and textile sector.
During his visit, Ambassador Şen emphasized that "Jaid Textile" is a prime example of successful Turkish investment, providing employment to over 10,000 Egyptians and serving as a strategic production base for exporting ready-made garments. He noted that the company prioritizes worker welfare by offering comprehensive social and legal services, and is known for its high-quality, consistent production.
Ambassador Şen also highlighted the recent visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to Egypt from August 4-5, describing it as highly successful and fruitful. During the visit, Minister Fidan inspected aid warehouses for Gaza in Arish, visited the Arish port and the Egyptian Red Crescent, and met with Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, as well as President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. He also visited New Alamein City and held bilateral meetings with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Dr. Badr Abdel Aty.
"Jaid Textile," part of "Yesim Group" in Turkey, is a global leader in textiles and sportswear, founded by Mr. Şükrü Şankaya in 1956. The group, which operates in Turkey, Moldova, and Egypt, expanded into Egypt in 2008.
The company has successfully attracted major global brands and is known for its commitment to shipping schedules, quality standards, occupational safety, and operational excellence. It operates in a healthy work environment, respecting both the environment and ethical values, including gender equality.
"Jaid Textile" has topped export rankings for four consecutive years and is among the top 15 exporters in Egypt's textile sector. The company supplied sportswear for the Tokyo Olympics, the African Games in Ghana, and is now supporting the France 2024 Olympics.
Looking ahead, "Jaid Textile" aims to increase its investments in Egypt, citing confidence in the capabilities of Egyptian workers. The company has achieved a gold standard in shipping schedules and product quality for major brands like Nike for eleven consecutive years.
In the past five years, the company has tripled its workforce, space, and production capacity. In 2024, it achieved $220 million in sales, expanding by 228,000 square meters in the 10th of Ramadan City and 60,000 square meters in Borg El Arab.
By 2030, "Jaid Textile" aims to employ 20,000 workers and achieve $500 million in sales in Egypt, continuing to proudly export to markets worldwide.
