Turkish Interior minister Süleyman Soylu, resigned on Sunday from position after giving only two hours of advance notice, Twitter and local media reported.
According to Turkish websites, Soylu resigned at the backdrop of the weekend curfew, which Turkey implements to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Earlier, the Turkish Interior Ministry announced a 48-hour confinement in Turkey's 30 largest cities just two hours before it was due to take effect, a matter which caused crowds failing to respect the social distancing rules.
