Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu affirmed, on Thursday, that relations between Turkey and Egypt must be improved.
In an interview with a local TV channel, Çavuşoğlu stressed that the mutual ties between the two countries are vital for the Eastern Mediterranean file, the Palestinian cause, the Arab and Islamic world, Africa, and the Middle East.
Moreover, he noted that despite differences in viewpoints, the two nations must strengthen their bond, even if they do not agree on every issue.
The Turkish minister also indicated that they held two rounds of talks between the Turkish and Egyptian sides at the level of the two deputy foreign ministers, highlighting that there might be a third one.
Çavuşoğlu also pointed out the possibility of his meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry, as there are proposals in this regard, but they have not yet been confirmed.
