Turkish FM: Recognition of Palestine Is Irreversible

Turkish Foreign Minister (FM) Hakan Fidan stated that the recognition of the State of Palestine has become an irreversible reality, adding: “The Israeli government seeks to annihilate the Palestinians, and we support the efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States to stop the war.”

Speaking at the meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Foreign Ministers to discuss the repercussions of the war in Gaza, Fidan emphasized: “It is necessary to prevent the plan to forcibly displace Palestinians and to continue pursuing full membership for Palestine in the United Nations.”

Turkish FM further noted: “Israel has not stopped at Palestine; it is also attacking Syria, Lebanon, and Iran.”

The OIC is holding an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of member states to address the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.

The purpose of the meeting is to coordinate positions and joint efforts to confront decisions and plans aimed at entrenching the Israeli occupation and full control over the Gaza Strip, as well as the crimes of genocide, starvation, forced displacement, blockade, and the unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
