Turkish Defense Minister Tests Positive for COVID-19

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar has tested positive for COVID-19, his office announced on Sunday. 

 

"Thankfully, I am in a good health," Akar tweeted.

 

On Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that he had tested positive for the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

In a tweet, Erdogan said he and his wife were experiencing mild symptoms of the coronavirus, adding that he will continue his work from home.

 

It is worth mentioning that, Johns Hopkins University announced on Sunday that more than 393 million people were infected with Coronavirus worldwide.
