Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar arrived, Saturday, in Tripoli, accompanied with Chief of Staff and a number of army commanders, to hold a meeting at the Turkish forces Headquarters.
Akar is going to meet Minister of Defense of Al-Wifaq Salah Al-Nimroush, Interior Minister Fathi Bashagha, and High Council of State Khalid al-Mishri.
The visit came following the Turkish parliament’s approval of extending the presence of Turkish forces in Libya for an additional 18 months
Libyan sources said that the Turkish Defense Minister changed his destination at the last minute from Al-Wataya base to Mitiga International Airport, adding that he is scheduled to visit the military college in the Al-Hadba area to attend a military ceremony.
