Sabri Demirci, a Turkish craftsman in Istanbul, has begun designing face masks in gold and silver to help keep his business as a silversmith afloat during the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement, Demirci stated that he did not find this type of mask around, which required him to design the molds himself.
He pointed out that the idea of creating these masks came to him during the quarantine period, as he stayed at home for two months and had plenty of time to think.
The craftsman explained that it took about 4 months to manufacture the masks, as there was no previous model.
The mask prices range between 200 and 2,200 euros. He stated that the silver mask weighs about 25 grams and is made of pure silver, noting that it costs 200 euros.
Demirci added that the weight of the gold mask ranges between 25 and 30 grams, pointing out that it is 18-carat gold and costs 2,200 euros.
