The Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Salih Mutlu Şenhas officially extended his congratulations to Mr. Nabil Fahmy following the Council of Ministers' approval of his candidacy for the position of Secretary-General of the Arab League.
Mr. Fahmy is set to succeed the incumbent, Mr. Ahmed Abul Gheit, whose mandate concludes on July 1.
In a statement reflecting the strengthening diplomatic ties between Ankara and the Arab world, the Ambassador praised the outgoing leadership for its pivotal role in fostering regional cooperation.
He emphasized that Mr. Abul Gheit’s dedicated efforts toward the advancement of Turkey-Arab League relations would be remembered with deep appreciation by the Turkish government.
