Salih Mutlu Şen expressed his admiration for the horses that participated in the Egyptian Horse Festival, praising Egypt’s longstanding tradition of breeding Arabian horses.
The Turkish ambassador said he was delighted to watch the horses competing and participating in the festival, noting that he had previously attended a similar Arabian horse festival in Poland, where he was impressed by the country’s rich history in breeding Arabian horses.
He added that the elegance and beauty of the purebred horses showcased during the Egyptian festival reflected the strength and significance of Egypt’s equestrian heritage.
According to Ambassador Şen, Egypt’s tradition of breeding Arabian horses dates back to the early years of the Muhammad Ali dynasty, beginning in the mid-18th century and continuing through the era of Abbas Helmy Pasha and into the 20th century under the patronage of Prince Mohamed Ali Tawfik.
He emphasized that the festival highlights the enduring cultural and historical value of Arabian horses in Egypt and showcases a heritage that continues to attract admiration internationally.
