Turkish Ambassador to Egypt Salih Mutlu Şen shared that he met with Prof. Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu in Alamein over a cup of coffee, as the professor was concluding his short vacation on the North Coast.
The meeting was also joined by Hisham, former Egyptian Minister of Communication.
The Turkish Ambassador noted that they are awaiting Prof. İhsanoğlu’s participation in the Board of Trustees meeting at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
During the gathering, Şen received insights from Hisham, regarding the library’s digital manuscripts.
He also shared his views on Hisham’s idea for a project aimed at preserving Prof. İhsanoğlu’s contributions to shared culture, describing him as one of the last prominent figures among Turkish-Egyptian personalities who connect the two nations’ histories.
