Turkey’s Ambassador to Cairo, Saleh Mutlu Sen, held talks with senior figures and business leaders from Egypt’s tourism sector on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand private-sector partnerships between the two countries.
The meeting focused on developing two-way tourism flows, enhancing cooperation between Egyptian and Turkish travel companies, exploring joint investment opportunities, and promoting the exchange of expertise. Participants also discussed improving direct communication channels between the private sectors in both countries to support tourism as a key driver of economic growth.
Ambassador Sen stressed that tourism is one of the main pillars for advancing economic cooperation between Cairo and Ankara, noting that the political will of both governments to deepen trade and economic ties should be translated into practical projects and real partnerships, particularly in tourism and tourism investment.
He said Egypt and Turkey enjoy rich and diverse tourism offerings, creating opportunities for complementarity rather than competition. Joint promotion campaigns, the organization of reciprocal trips, the exchange of know-how, and the facilitation of tourist movement — including clearer visa procedures and closer coordination between the embassy and travel agencies — were highlighted as steps that could generate tangible economic benefits for both sides.
The ambassador also underlined the Turkish Embassy’s commitment to supporting direct engagement between business communities and tourism companies in both countries, helping to overcome obstacles and laying the groundwork for deeper cooperation in the coming period.
Senior Egyptian tourism officials and executives attending the meeting included representatives of airport and aviation companies, major travel groups, and members of the Egyptian Tourism Federation, reflecting broad private-sector interest in expanding Egypt-Turkey tourism ties.
