Türkiye’s Ambassador to Egypt Salih Mutlu has praised the role of Syrian-origin entrepreneurs in strengthening economic cooperation between Türkiye, Egypt, and Syria, following a meeting with executives from Tatari Konfeksiyon, a Turkish textile company.
In a post on X, the ambassador said he held talks with company managers Wael and Nurettin Tatari, along with Director Bahtiyar, where they briefed him on the production chain the company has built across the Türkiye-Egypt-Syria triangle.
Mutlu also noted that discussions focused on potential support mechanisms to further develop this business line “to the benefit of all parties involved.”
Tatari Konfeksiyon, founded by a family of Syrian origin, has expanded its operations in both Türkiye and Egypt, while maintaining links with Syrian markets. The company is part of a growing number of businesses leveraging regional value chains in textiles and garment manufacturing.
The meeting underscores Ankara’s efforts to encourage cross-border economic collaboration and highlights the potential role of private sector initiatives in boosting regional trade and investment.
