Turkish Airlines has suspended flights to 10 Middle Eastern countries amid escalating tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, the carrier confirmed Saturday.

Yahya Üstün, head of the airline’s press office, announced on Turkey’s “InSosyal” platform that flights scheduled for Saturday to Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman have been canceled.

In addition, all flights to Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iran have been suspended through March 2, 2026.

The airline said the decision follows the closure of airspace by several countries after the exchange of attacks between Iran on one side and the United States and Israel on the other. Officials warned that additional cancellations remain possible and urged passengers to check the airline’s official website for the latest updates.

Earlier Saturday, Israel’s Defense Ministry announced that it had launched a preemptive strike against Iran to neutralize what it described as imminent threats. Tehran vowed a decisive response, prompting multiple countries in the region to close their airspace as a precaution.

The escalation follows the collapse of nuclear talks held in Switzerland on Thursday between US and Iranian officials, the latest diplomatic effort before the confrontation intensified.

Explosions were reported across central Israel, including in Tel Aviv and surrounding areas, following what local media described as an Iranian missile attack in response to the joint US-Israeli operation.
