Turkish Presidential Spokesperson Ibrahim Kalın confirmed that Turkey has no intention to impose sanctions against Russia, as it does not want to be a party in the conflict.

Kalın said Turkey has good relations with both Russia and Ukraine, stressing that it is one of few actors able to talk with both sides.

"At this moment, we have no plans to impose sanctions. Above all, we don't want to be presented as a party to this conflict, and of course, we don't want our economy to be affected by that," he added.

"It's important to have an interlocutor Russia trusts and talks to, and major wars and conflicts can only be avoided in this way. This line of trust must remain open for these negotiations and this diplomatic movement to succeed.
