Washington Calls Ankara for "Immediate Cessation" of Military Operations in Northern Syria

Turkey has expanded the scope of its air attacks, in addition to artillery shelling, on the areas controlled by the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF) in the north and northeastern Syria, to the areas the presence of American and Russian forces, amid warnings of from Washington, and hints from Russia that Ankara "may back down" from executing a ground operation threatened by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkey has launched intense attacks since the announcement of the "Claw-Sword" air operation in northern Syria and Iraq, since dawn last Sunday, against armed bases of the "PKK" and the "Kurdish People's Protection Units", which are the largest components of the "SDF".

The Turkish forces, stationed at the Kaljibrin base in the Azaz countryside, also bombed, with heavy artillery, the deployment areas of the Kurdish forces and the regime forces in the vicinity of the city of Tal Rifaat and the village of Al-Baylouniyeh in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
