Turkey has dispatched six trucks carrying medical supplies to Iran from the eastern province of Van Province, as part of ongoing humanitarian assistance efforts amid regional instability.

According to the Turkish state news agency Anadolu Agency, the convoy departed on Friday loaded with medicines, medical consumables, equipment, stretchers, and oxygen cylinders. The supplies were collected from healthcare institutions across multiple provinces and consolidated at the Van Provincial Health Directorate before being transported.

Officials confirmed that health workers in Van oversaw the loading process to ensure the aid was properly prepared for delivery.

Speaking to reporters, Van Provincial Health Director Dr. Mehmet Tosun said the operation was aimed at delivering urgently needed medical materials gathered from across the country to Iran.

He added that, under instructions from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Health Ministry, Turkey would continue to extend humanitarian assistance to neighboring populations in need.

Tosun noted that three trucks had already been sent previously, bringing the total number of aid vehicles dispatched to nine.

The aid effort comes against the backdrop of heightened regional tensions following the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran, which escalated earlier this year before a temporary ceasefire was announced in April through diplomatic mediation.
