Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Turkey's Foreign Minister has announced that his country is negotiating with Russia to purchase a new batch of S-400 missile  system.

He revealed that various Turkish agencies including the Ministry of Defense are discussing purchasing the second batch of the Russian air defense system.

The chief Turkish diplomat criticized US stance of the Russian system.

He affirmed that Turkey has purchased that system but the US mistakes when it comments negatively on this transaction.

The Turkish minister indicated that if the US wants Turkey purchases US weaponry, Washington must offer   reasonable prices and better conditions.

It is worth noting that the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has urged his Turkish counterpart to relinquish the Russian missile  system.

But the Turkish minister affirmed that talks of transaction  with Moscow were completed and Turkey has special motivations to contract with Russia S-400 missile  system.

On the other hand,   Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu revealed that Turkey sold war drones to Ukraine but he considered that this transaction doesn't target Russia as Ankara has good relations with both Russia and Ukraine despite the escalating tensions in the Black Sea region.

Ukraine accuses Russia of arming and supporting the nationalist separatists  in the eastern parts of the country.

Also Russia clawed the Crimea Peninsula of Ukraine years ago and ties between the two countries become irreparable.  Çavuşoğluwent went  on to say the members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) need a road map to solve their problems.

Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made clear that his talks with Blinken in Brussels    were constructive.

The two ministers agreed to hold more talks either in Turkey or in the USA.

However, Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar stressed that his country couldn't retreat from purchasing the Russian missile system.

He pointed out that disputes with the USA could be settled through dialog.
