Turkey's authorities issued on Tuesday arrest warrants for 82 members of the army, on suspicion of having links with the Gulen movement, which Ankara claims was behind the failed 2016 coup, it is the famous accusation used by the Turkish regime against its opponents.
According to the official Turkish Anadolu news agency, the arrest operation took place in 39 regions, resulting in the arrest of 63 wanted persons, noting that there are 70 suspects still in service.
In the same context, the Turkish newspaper “Zaman” pointed out that the Turkish authorities arrested on Tuesday 41 policemen after they were arbitrarily dismissed from work, for allegedly belonging to the movement.
Earlier, the Turkish Interior Minister, Süleyman Soylu, announced that so far 292,000 people have been arrested, 96,000 of them have been convicted of belonging to the movement.
