Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and Chief of General Staff Yasar Guler signed on Friday a new military agreement with the Government of the National Accord (GNA), according to Al Arabiya news channel.
The new agreement allows Turkey to protect its interests in Libya through direct interference, Al Arabiya quoted sources as saying.
According to the deal, Turkey would establish a military force in Libya. The Turkish soldiers will enjoy immunity against any prosecution.
The new agreement gives Turkish officers in Libya a diplomatic status for not pursuing them.
This came during a visit that was not previously announced by the Turkish defense minister and chief of general staff.
