Tunisian Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani has expressed his country's commitment to enhancing relations and cooperation with the French Development Agency (AFD) to achieve developmental goals.
He highlighted the collaboration with AFD Director General Rémy Rioux across various sectors, establishing the agency as a distinguished development partner in Tunisia since 1992.
For his part, AFD Director General Rémy Rioux reiterated the agency's commitment and readiness to continue supporting Tunisia in implementing its developmental priorities.
These include sectors such as energy, agriculture, environment, health, infrastructure, and education, with a focus on financing projects with significant economic and social impact.
In related news, Tunisian Minister of Economy and Planning Ferial Alourgui Sebai, along with National Sanitation Office President and CEO Abdelmajid Beltaib, AFD Director General Rémy Rioux, and French Ambassador to Tunisia Anne Gueguen, signed four financing agreements.
The signing ceremony was attended by Education Minister Salwa El-Abbasi, Environment Minister Leila Chikhaoui, and Youth and Sports Minister Kamel Deguiche.
According to the Tunisian Prime Ministry, the first agreement includes a loan of €80 million to support small and medium-sized enterprises. The second agreement is a €50 million loan for the National Neighborhood Sanitation Program.
Additionally, the AFD has granted €6 million to support projects in education and sports, and another €1 million grant to technically support the Neighborhood Sanitation Project.
