Nabil Ammar, Tunisia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, reaffirmed his country's support for all efforts aimed at achieving a comprehensive and lasting resolution that ensures Libya's security, stability, unity, and the sovereignty of its people over their national resources.
According to the Tunisian News Agency, this was stated during Ammar's meeting with Joey Hood, the U.S. Ambassador to Tunisia, and U.S. Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland. During the meeting, the Tunisian position on the necessity of a Libyan-led solution through consensus and under the auspices of the United Nations was reiterated.
The meeting also covered the friendship between Tunisia and the United States, reviewing various aspects of bilateral cooperation and exploring ways to further enhance and diversify it. Both sides emphasized the importance of further coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
For his part, the U.S. envoy commended Tunisia's positive and constructive role in bridging the gaps between Libyan factions, reaffirming his country's stance against the imposition of solutions by force by any party, and expressed readiness to coordinate with Tunisia to promote a political settlement based on dialogue and negotiation.
