Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nabil Ammar discussed with Abdullah Batili, Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides.
In a statment, The Tunisian Foreign Ministry stated that the meeting discussed Tunisia’s keenness to find a political settlement in Libya on the basis of a Libyan-Libyan solution, stressing its support for the international efforts made to bring viewpoints closer between the various parties.
For his part, the UN envoy confirmed that the meeting reviewed the developments in the political process in Libya and the efforts of the UN mission to bring views closer between the various parties.
He reiterated Tunisia's active role since the beginning of the Libyan crisis, expressing his aspiration to further strengthen cooperation during the coming period to advance the political path in this brotherly country, in a way that responds to the aspirations of the Libyan people and all the peoples of the region for security, stability and development.
