European reports claimed on Monday that Chelsea are set to appoint Thomas Tuchel as manager after sacking head coach Frank Lampard.
The reports added that the Blues has settled on appointing Tuchel as a new manager, and they are currently negotiating on the contract.
Tuchel had been sacked form PSG, due to bad results after leading the French club for three years.
The reports also added that the Premier League club will announce the new manager within the upcoming 24 hours.
Earlier today, Chelsea announced that they had sacked Lampard after a poor run in the Premier League.
“This was a very difficult decision for the club, not least because I have an excellent personal relationship with Frank and I have the utmost respect for him,” said owner Roman Abramovich.
Chelsea are struggling in ninth place in the Premier League table, 11 points behind leaders Manchester United.
They have lost five of their past eight Premier League matches after a good start to the season.
“Former Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel in line to take over,” reports said.
