Rehab Saad, Media Advisor to the American University in Cairo (AUC) denied reports that eight students were removed from the university after returning from Aswan.
In an exclusive statement to SEENews, Saad explained that the fact of the matter is that the 8 inpiduals are from the university community and not students.
She added: “Those inpiduals were on a trip to Aswan recently; upon their return to Cairo they demanded that the university isolate them in order to conduct the necessary medical examinations.”
The media adviser of the university confirmed that the 8 inpiduals have not yet discovered to be infected with the new Coronavirus, but they are under precautionary measures.
Saad urged the public not to publish news about this matter without returning to the university in order to prevent the spread of rumors.
