Egyptian singer Bahaa Sultan announced on Wednesday that his contract with producer Nasr Mahrous has been terminated, following a series of feuds.

“Praise God, my contract with Nasr Mahrous’s Free Music has been terminated", Sultan wrote on Facebook.

The singer has been long absent from the entertainment scene for many years due to his problems with Mahrous, which halted any new artistic work from coming to the light.

It all begin when Sultan signed a monopoly contract with Mahrous’s company and due to some other feuds and the producer not releasing his 2014 album, the singer refused to renew the contract, which obliges him to pay 1.5M USD worth of penal clause as the contract does not end until Sultan releases three albums with the company – from that point onwards lawsuits have been filed.

Earlier this year, Veteran actress and TV presenter, Esaad Younis hosted the singer on her “Sahebat Al-Saada” program broadcast on “DMC” satellite Channel.

Younis send a message to Mahrous on live TV, asking him to rekindle his partnership with Sultan – and let people hear his voice again, which Mahrous did.

He shared a Facebook post replying to her and expressing his gratitude for her interference, assuring that his company will always welcome Sultan with open arms, no matter what. The producer also noted that he phoned the singer after the episode.

Mahrous expressed his surprise about what Sultan wrote, stating that his announcement contrary to the ruling issued against him.

The producer noted that the court competent dismissed the subsidiary lawsuit that Sultan filed, in which he claims that his contract with Free Music is over.

Mahrous added, that the court also obligated Sultan to create the remaining two albums with Free Music Company.

It is worth mentioning that Sultan, born on October 1, 1972, studied commerce before joining the National Arab Music Institute.

Renowned singer and composer Mostafa Kamel was impressed by his talent and found a star in him, so he introduced the superstar to Mahrous who released his single “Ehlef i.e. Swear” in album “Free Mix 1(1998)”, a collection of songs featuring new talents.

Sultan’s single “Bayennena” (It seems), was launched within album “Free Mix 2 (2000)”; it achieved a great success, which encouraged Mahrous to produce an album for the singer.

The 47-year-old superstar’s first album was “Yally Mashy”; it received great success, and made other producers release albums for young singers.

Sultan, then released, another four albums “TalatDakaeik” (Three minutes), “Oum Okaf” (Standup), “Kaan zaman” ( Once upon a time), and “We malna” (What happened to us).

The superstar had also performed several TV and movie theme songs, including the theme song of the movie “Ana mesh ma’aahom” (I am not with them) and for TV series “Souk al-khodaar” (Vegetable market).

Sultan is known for his songs “Oum Okaf”, “Ya Tara”, “El Wad Albo Beyewgao”, and “Alli Byahsaly”.
