Former US President Donald Trump unveiled his plans in his first public remarks after leaving the White House, noting that action is still not carried out yet, reports revealed on Friday.
A Washington Examiner reporter asked Trump to reveal his next step, as he was setting down for dinner at the Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach, Florida.
"We’ll do something, but not just yet," Trump responded.
One of Trump’s aides told the reporter to immediately leave, without providing further explanations.
He arrived at his Mar-a-Lago resort on Wednesday morning, shortly before US President Joe Biden was inaugurated, spotted golfing at his club the following day.
So far, the former President did not give much indication about what he is willing to do following his term in office.
On his part, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced Friday evening after reaching an agreement with Republicans, that the former President's trial impeachment will start February 9, giving the Senate time to confirm Biden's Cabinet nominations and consider his proposed $1.9 trillion COVID relief package.
“We all want to put this awful chapter in our nation's history behind us,” Schumer stated about the deadly Jan. 6 Capitol riots.
“But healing and unity will only come if there is truth and accountability. And that is what this trial will provide.”
