U.S. President Donald Trump, after his meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky in New York, said he believes Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is capable of "fighting and winning" and restoring its original borders.
"After reviewing and understanding the military and economic situation in Ukraine and Russia, and seeing the economic problems that Russia is facing, I believe that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is capable of fighting and returning to what it was before the war," Trump posted on social media.
According to the U.S. president, this requires patience and financial support from Europe and NATO.
During the meeting with Trump, Zelensky promised to update the American president with "good news" and the latest developments on the front line.
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian army had repelled a major attack by Ukrainian forces from the northern and western flanks of the city of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region.
Russian forces are also advancing on almost all fronts, having managed to expel Ukrainian troops from the Serebrianskyi Forest area.
