US President Donald Trump, in remarks reported by Bloomberg, said the ceasefire with Iran may not be extended if an agreement is not reached before its expiration Wednesday evening, Washington time.
Trump confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until a final agreement is reached, stressing that he will not rush into signing a "bad deal" and that Washington has ample time to negotiate.
The US president explained that Tehran is pressing for the reopening of the strait, but he will not take this step before reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves his country's objectives.
