U.S. President Donald Trump said on Saturday that Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had been killed in what he described as a military operation carried out in coordination with Israel, according to a post on his social media platform.

Trump described Khamenei as “one of the most evil people in history,” claiming that advanced U.S. intelligence and tracking systems were able to locate and target him.

In the post on Truth Social, Trump said the operation was conducted “in close coordination with Israel” and suggested that several other military and security figures were killed during the operation.

He added that the development represented “the greatest opportunity for the Iranian people to reclaim their country,” claiming without providing evidence that some members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and security forces were seeking immunity and no longer wished to fight.

Trump further stated that those forces could “receive protection now,” warning that later “the only alternative would be death,” while expressing hope that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard and police could eventually integrate peacefully with what he called “Iranian patriots.”

No independent confirmation of the claims was available from U.S., Israeli or Iranian officials. Authorities in the region have not verified any such military operation.
