US President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that at least five other Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, would want to normalize relations with Israel.
Following the announcement that Sudan had agreed to normalize relations with Israel, Trump mentioned that Saudi Arabia would certainly “join the ride of peace.”
“So, we have many countries, as you know, getting ready, and we also have… I'm sure you'll see Saudi Arabia there very soon,” Trump said in remarks to the press from the Oval Office.
“I really believe that will happen too, and very good relations with Saudi Arabia and so you'll see something very special,” the president added.
The announcement came shortly after the White House mentioned that the US President informed Congress of his intention to remove Sudan's name from the list of states sponsoring terrorism.
While the US president seeks to promote himself as a peace-maker over his opponent, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, he confirmed his outright rejection of Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.
“Whoever is cheering death to Israel cannot obtain nuclear weapons,” he stated. “I would like to help Iran and return it to its correct course, but they must abandon nuclear weapons.”
