Trump Returns to Washington, Plans to Declare National Emergency

Fox News has reported that President-elect Donald Trump plans to declare a national emergency on the U.S. border shortly after taking office. The report also indicates that Trump will sign over 200 executive orders on his first day as president, setting an assertive tone for his return to power.

According to CNN, Trump has informed his team of plans to visit China soon after his inauguration. Trump, accompanied by his wife Melania, daughter Ivanka, and son-in-law Jared Kushner, arrived in Washington, D.C., aboard Air Force One sent by outgoing President Joe Biden. Upon arrival, he visited his golf club in Sterling, Virginia, ahead of the inaugural festivities.

Celebrations leading up to the inauguration included a reception attended by 500 guests, where an Elvis Presley impersonator performed for Trump and his family. The event concluded with a fireworks display, creating an enthusiastic prelude to Monday's formal proceedings.

Trump, now 78, is scheduled to hold a rally with supporters at Capital One Arena on Sunday evening, followed by a post-inaugural gathering on Monday afternoon.

Due to icy weather forecasts, Trump has relocated the inauguration ceremony from the iconic West Front of the Capitol to the Capitol Rotunda. The traditional parade along Pennsylvania Avenue will also be adjusted, taking place at Capital One Arena instead. These changes reflect Trump’s emphasis on ensuring a smooth and memorable transition despite the challenging conditions.
