US President Donald Trump has praised what he described as the success of the American war against Iran, asserting that Tehran had "gotten away with murder for 47 years until I came along, and then everything changed."
In a post on his "Truth Social" platform on Saturday, Trump stated, "The Radical Left Democrats realize how successful we have been in our war against Iran," adding that Iran has been "totally defeated militarily."
Trump also criticized his predecessor, former US President Barack Obama, claiming that he "kept giving Iran billions of dollars in cash."
He added that the US military at the time was not utilized "the way it should have been to rein in Iran," which he described as the "number one state sponsor of terrorism in the world."
