US President Donald Trump posted an image, seemingly created using artificial intelligence, showing him sitting next to a map of the United States that includes Greenland, Canada, and Venezuela, while speaking with European leaders.
Newsweek reported that the image, posted on Truth Social on Monday evening, appears to be a digitally altered version of a photo taken during a visit to Washington in August 2025 by leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Another AI-generated image shows President Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Greenland, where Trump is holding up the American flag next to a sign that reads: “Greenland – US Territory. Established 2026.”
Trump has repeatedly claimed that America should annex Greenland for national security reasons, and has refused to rule out resorting to military action if Denmark does not agree.
