President Donald Trump's administration has revoked a license allowing U.S. energy tycoon Harry Sargeant III to import asphalt from Venezuela, according to Bloomberg.
Global Oil Terminals, based in Texas, owned by Sargeant, should end operations in Venezuela by May 27, a source told Bloomberg.
The Wall Street Journal reported late on Friday that Sargeant Oil Trading Company received orders to leave Venezuela, citing a letter from the US Treasury Department.
The Trump administration recently gave Chevron until May 27 to end its operations in Venezuela as a way to pressure President Nicolas Maduro's authoritarian regime to undertake democratic reforms and accept more immigrants from the United States.
Sargeant initially received a two-year exemption in May last year, allowing GlobalOil Terminals to purchase and transport asphalt to the United States and the Caribbean.
