U.S. President Donald Trump expressed cautious optimism regarding the resumption of negotiations with Iran, asserting his belief that a deal could be reached soon.
Speaking to News 12 about the prospects of an agreement, Trump stated: "I feel optimistic about it. The outlines of the deal have already been set. I think we have a very good chance of getting it done."
The talks are expected to commence in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, on Tuesday morning.
The high-level American delegation will reportedly include Vice President J.D. Vance, alongside White House envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
However, Iranian state media denied the reports of a second round of negotiations in Islamabad this Sunday, despite President Trump’s announcement of the upcoming meeting.
The IRNA news agency described the reports as "incorrect," noting that the negotiation path still faces obstacles preventing further progress.
