Hours ago, outgoing US President Donald Trump played down the risk of the suspected Russian "massive" cyber-attack that breached several US federal agencies and companies all over the world.

Sputnik News agency re-published his tweet: "The Cyber Hack is far greater in the Fake News Media than in actuality. I have been fully briefed and everything is well under control."

"Russia, Russia, Russia is the priority chant when anything happens because Lamestream is, for mostly financial reasons, petrified of discussing the possibility that it may be China (it may!)," Trump added in his tweet.

The US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, confirmed on Saturday, that Russia is behind the ongoing massive cyberattacks.

In an interview on Mark Levin Show, Pompeo said, “Now we can say pretty clearly that it was the Russians that engaged in this activity.”

Pompeo is now the first Trump administration official to pin the hack on Russia.

Pompeo’s remarks came after the announcement of Microsoft’s president, Brad Smith, that the suspected Russian hacking campaign has focused on more than 40 institutions.
