President-elect Donald Trump has named his campaign chairwoman Susie Wiles as his White House chief of staff.
Wiles has been widely credited inside and outside Trump’s inner circle with running what has been by far his most disciplined and well-executed campaign, the Associated Press reported.
Wiles has largely avoided the spotlight, even refusing to take the microphone to speak during Trump’s victory celebrations early Wednesday morning.
“Susie is strong, smart, innovative and universally admired and respected. Susie will continue to work tirelessly to make America great again,” the Trump campaign said in a statement.
“It is a well-deserved honor that Susie will be the first woman to serve as chief of staff in American history. I have no doubt she will make our country proud.”
