US President Donald Trump stated that he is "not currently open" to offering any concessions to Iran, following Washington's receipt of the latest Iranian response to the war ceasefire proposal.
In a telephone interview with the American newspaper The New York Post, Trump added that Tehran "knows what is going to happen soon," in an apparent reference to the possibility of new US measures.
He continued by stating that he could not discuss details regarding the ongoing negotiations, explaining that "a lot of things are happening right now," while also denying that he felt frustrated by the Iranian stance.
Trump pointed out that Iran "wants to reach a deal now more than ever," attributing this to Tehran's realization of the United States' capability to increase pressure on it.
The US President declined to comment on reports suggesting that Iran is attempting to buy time regarding its nuclear file or the issue of reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
The White House has not issued an immediate comment regarding the US response to the latest Iranian proposal.
