Ivana Trump, the ex-wife of former U.S. President Donald Trump, died at age 73, the family announced on Thursday.
"Our mother was an incredible woman -- a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and caring mother and friend," the Trump family said in a statement.
"Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children about grit and toughness, compassion and determination," they added. "She will be dearly missed by her mother, her three children and ten grandchildren."
Ivana passed away Thursday afternoon at her Manhattan apartment. Police responded to a call of a person in cardiac arrest at 10 East 64th Street on the Upper East Side at 12:40 p.m.
The death is not considered suspicious, and officials noted that she appears to have died of natural causes. However, the New York City Medical Examiner's Office will investigate to determine the cause of death.
In a statement on his platform Truth Social, Trump remembered his ex-partner as a "wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life."
"Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric," he wrote. "She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her."
Ivana was Trump's first wife. They had three children together: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric Trump. The couple got married in 1977 and porced in 1992.
