Trump Decides to Return US to WHO

US President Donald Trump announced that he had allowed the United States of America to return to membership in the World Health Organization (WHO).

He indicated that there were conditions for that.

Trump spoke to his supporters in Pennsylvania on Tuesday and revealed that the USA pays the organization US$ 500 million annually, while China pays only $ 39 million, and has great access to resources and expertise of the WHO.

"I promise you one thing: If we go back one day to the organization, we can come back for much less money. We don't have to pay $ 500 million, it's a great financial deal," he said.

He added that there are hundreds of other examples of the United States’ participation in deprived international organizations and coalitions that can be talked about throughout the day."

The White House suspended funding for WHO in mid-April, while US President Donald Trump warned that such a measure will remain in effect as long as errors are investigated by the organization in responding to and covering up the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Trump has ordered an investigation into a possible conspiracy between WHO and China, the purpose of which was to conceal information about the Coronavirus and its sources.

Later, the Trump administration announced plans to partially resume funding for the organization, on the condition that it should receive an equal amount of contributions with China, as well as a series of reforms to be introduced to the organization.

The United States joined the organization in June 1948.

Trump commented on the statements of Dr. David Nabarro of the WHO, who called on countries of the world not to close their borders and disrupt their economies in order to control Corona.

He tweeted that the WHO has just admitted that he was right.

He warned that lockdowns are crippling countries economies around the world as the treatment must not be worse than the problem itself.
