President Trump confirmed the expectations of US health officials and Pfizer Inc., saying on Tuesday at a town hall event hosted by ABC News that the vaccine might be ready within three or four weeks, The Telegraph reported.

Although Trump said on Tuesday that a coronavirus vaccine could be available within a month -with amazing swiftness of his sayings – added that the pandemic could go away by itself.

“The previous administration would have taken perhaps years to have a vaccine, because of the FDA and all the approvals,” Trump said on Tuesday. “We’re within weeks of getting it. You know, could be three weeks, four weeks.”

Regarding the discrepancy of the president’s statement about the four weeks, few hours earlier, speaking to Fox News on Tuesday morning, Trump had said a vaccine could come in "four weeks, it could be eight weeks."

The president also spoke on Twitter about "herd mentality" instead of "herd immunity," a form of indirect protection from infectious disease that occurs when enough people have become immune through vaccination or previous infections, which was a flagrant mockery.

Public health authorities expressed their concern that the White House may put a strain on the FDA to approve a vaccine before the election on Nov. 3, and drug companies developing a shot have agreed not to put forward a vaccine until it had been thoroughly vetted for safety and efficacy.

Asked why he'd downplayed the gravity of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has now resulted in killing approximately 200,000 people in the US, he replied by saying: "I didn't downplay it. I actually, in many ways, I up-played it in terms of action. "

Again with discrepancy of his statements, he told journalist Bob Woodward, during taped interviews for the new book Rage, had intentionally decided to "play it down" to avoid alarming Americans.
